The first round of substantive negotiations by UN member states on a draft treaty to regulate transnational corporations and other business enterprises in human rights law took place from 15th-19th October 2018 in Geneva. This marks a milestone in the process towards an international legal regime tackling the accountability gap with regard to transnational cases involving human rights violations by business entities.
